We are really looking forward to welcoming you to the University of Winchester in September. In advance of your arrival we are now able to share with you more information about the next steps in your journey.

  • Welcome Pack 1: Initial Information is now available and contains information about Fees and Finance, Student Support, your Faculty, and much more.
  • Welcome Pack 2: Preparing to start will include information about online registration, details of enrolment and Welcome Week events, and will be available by the end of August.

To access the Welcome Packs, all you need to do is visit MyRecord and log-in using your username and password included in your offer letter.

Arrivals to Accommodation

Information for those moving into university managed accommodation on and off campus. Please note, those moving in to Riverside Way & Cathedral Point will be sent further information relating to their arrival.

Important: The information provided here is subject to adjustment to reflect any changes in Government Guidelines

Before you arrive

Make sure you have completed the following:

  • Read and accepted your room offer as per the instructions in your offer email
  • Completed your online registration and uploaded a photo – this photo will be used on your Campus Card and is very important!
  • Registered your card details in order to set up payments for Residence Fees
  • Book an arrival slot – log back in to the Housing Portal to do this and make sure you have your arrival pass ready to view on the day

When to arrive

In order to encourage and preserve a Covid Safe environment at the University of Winchester, arrivals to accommodation will be staggered and will take place from Saturday 12 September to Wednesday 16 September.

No arrivals will be permitted before the 12 September.

If you plan to arrive after 16 September, please let us know by emailing housing@winchester.ac.uk

During the offer acceptance process you selected an arrival slot. If you arrive outside of your designated time you will be asked to wait off campus until we are able to welcome you in. We ask that you are receptive to staff directions at all times, but in particular with regards to ensuring that we manage the site safely.

International Students
You are able to arrive on Saturday 12 September. If you have not been able to select this date during the acceptance process, please don’t worry, just email us at housing@winchester.ac.uk to let us know.

Cathedral Point & Riverside Way
You should have received information with your offer regarding when to arrive.

Where to collect your key

Full details of our arrivals process will be emailed to students prior to the 12 September. 

Arrivals to Halls: Students will be asked to collect their key from a central point at their Hall of Residence
Arrivals to UMH: Students will be asked to collect their key from a central point at the University before heading off to their property

Campus map for housing arrivals

If you are arriving from Monday 16th September onwards, you will be able to collect your key from Student Housing Services. Details will be sent to you.

Cathedral Point & Riverside Way

Those moving in to Cathedral Point & Riverside Way do not collect keys from the University but will need to collect their keys from the relevant building’s Reception desk as per the Arrivals information you have been sent.

Parking

Students are requested to only bring one vehicle due to the limited number of parking spaces available. Parking is only available for the drop off period and visitors must move their vehicle once this time has expired. If there are no spaces available, visitors may be asked to park elsewhere. For information about public car parks in Winchester, please visit the city council website.
